Mediterranean Regattas
Special J/World Racing Events
J/World Performance Sailing offers special racing events in the Mediterranean. Pent up demand for our racing experiences and alumni interested in sampling new events has encouraged us to expand our offerings, so each year we will be targeting events around the globe which have great appeal for sailors and racers of all sorts. Next August-October you can choose from two distance events and one buoy event. Each regatta will have three or four coaches aboard, and participants will be involved in all aspects of sailing the vessel. Make no mistake, these are not the typical ‘cattle boat’ experiences which dominate the pay-to-play market. These are coached events with world class instructors helping you achieve your personal goals. J/World has been coaching sailors for 40 years, and running big boat programs for over 20 years. There are many good reasons for this longevity, and our programs are like none others in the world. Take a look at the exciting options below, and contact us for details or to make a reservation. Spaces are obviously very limited!
*Please note that these events are a good time off, so official dates are not completely confirmed and might vary slightly. If your schedule is tight, please contact us for the latest info, and we will be updating this page as dates are released by the organizing authorities.
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez
September 26 – October 4, 2026
Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez is a prestigious, week-long annual yachting regatta held at the end of the Mediterranean sailing season in the iconic French Riviera town of Saint-Tropez, bringing together stunning classic and ultra-modern yachts for competitive racing and a vibrant “Sail Hard, Play Hard” atmosphere ashore with parties, music, and local festivities. It’s known for its mix of historic sailing vessels and cutting-edge racing machines, all competing in the scenic bay for a grand celebration of sailing.
Join a team led by three of our renowned coaches for this epic event. Everyone gets a chance to participate in all aspects of racing the boat. We pride ourselves in fielding teams that are positive, cooperative, and competitive. We want to sharpen our skills, expand our experience, and have a great time in the process. We haven’t done this event since 2022, so best to jump on it now, very limited spaces!
Rolex Middle Sea Race
Starting from the Grand Harbour in Valletta, Malta, beneath Fort St Angelo and the Saluting Battery, the fleet heads northeast along the coast of Sicily, towards the Straits of Messina. You can usually spot Mount Etna and hear the Volcano rumble.
The course heads north from the Straits in the direction of Stromboli, another active volcano, where the yachts then turn west to the Egadi Islands. After reaching Favignana the fleet heads south towards the island of Lampedusa with the island of Pantelleria on their port side. Once they have passed Lampedusa the fleet is on the home straight towards Malta and the finish at Marsamxett Harbour.
The Rolex Middle Sea Race is a challenge for both skippers and crews. Everyone has to be on their A-Game to cope with the demanding and often changeable conditions on the 606nm course.
