Learn
How To Sail - Course Description
This class is designed
to provide the essential foundation of sailing skills. Our five-day Learn How to Sail
class helps you get started, or builds upon previous basic
experience. Using the modern J/80 as our teaching platform, we begin
on Monday with basic boat-handling and terminology, and finish on
Friday by flying along with the spinnaker up!
This course is extremely
comprehensive. We spend more time on the water in one day than
many schools do in an entire class. And with a maximum of four
sailors per boat, all attendees are certain to receive plenty of
personal attention. Participants gain extensive hand-on
experience, building the sailing skills and knowledge to pursue sailing
endeavors on their own, with confidence.
Confidence
through Competence
Without question, this
is the ultimate course for learning to sail. If you are going
to invest the time and the money, make sure you get the most of
both, so that you can get the most out of sailing. Our J World

sailors, far exceeds any other schools' or organizations' criteria
for 'basic' level sailing courses. Topics include:

Our ultimate goal in
this class is that by Friday each student feels competent skippering
a small keelboat without instructor input. If the five day program

What makes
J/World
different from the average sailing school?
Numerous seemingly small
differences result in a dramatically different overall experience.
You can get a degree from many, many universities, but we all know
that all colleges are not created equal... and the same hold
true of sailing schools. So what are the primary differences
between J/World and other sailing schools?
-
Our Boats - we teach on the
latest generation of sportboats: more comfortable, safer,
faster, and better learning platforms. Offshore rated, yet
nimble and responsive, these boats have huge cockpits, high
booms, and are extremely well balanced.
-
Our Staff - most of our team
are
full-time, year-round professional sailing coaches...
not just seasonal, part-timers. All J/World instructors teach everything from these beginning sailing
courses to private cruising classes and race coaching.
Just because you are a beginning sailor doesn't mean you should
have a beginning instructor... in fact, quite the
opposite!
-
Our Curriculum - J/World has
been teaching sailors for nearly 30 years, and much
longer that ANYONE has been certifying them. We teach our
own curriculum which have been proven successful and launched
thousands of sailing adventures....
More time sailing.
More course days. Exceptional boats. Phenomenal
instructors. But don't just take our word for it. Click

From

In our survey of sailing schools, J World won
the highest ratings for its fleet of new, high quality
boats, their challenging courses and adept instructors.
Eight years later they are still the best in the business.
"I truly felt like I was attending the Top Gun of Sailing
Schools. It was worth every penny I paid,' said Karl F. Beaster, a Wisconsin native. J World's Jahn Tihansky
said his company's recipe is for good coaches, good boats,
and lots of time on the water.
J World's customer satisfaction record was perfect. Every
former student who reported was satisfied with his
experience on the water and in the classroom. All felt that
J World's program was worth the money. That is a distinction
no other large school achieved.

We spend more time
actually sailing than any other school... six hours
per day on the boat! |
